Jaden Joe VanPelt grew up in Tripp; Jaden’s parents are Wayne and Lisa Stoebner. Throughout high school, Jaden was involved in five years of cheer, four years of youth group, two years of theater, two years of peer mentoring, and three years of National Honors Society. Jaden plans on attending SDSU for the Nutrition and Dietetics program. Her inspiration to study nutrition came when she and Megan Reiner were researching different careers in science class, and nutrition and dietetics seemed to suit Jaden the best.During high school, Jaden grew her most meaningful relationships in her senior year. Jaden says, “In my senior year, I became a lot closer to my classmates. I spend most of my time with them and consider them my best friends.” With amazing friends, you have amazing teachers. Jaden’s favorite teacher was Mrs. Brown “because she’s cool and a good teacher.” Jaden’s influential figures who had a significant impact on her life were her parents. She says, “My mom has shown me how to be a strong person and not care about what other people think; Wayne has taught me many life skills and always makes me laugh.” Jaden’s fondest memories are spending time with her friends and making some of her best memories. Jaden says the dumbest saying of her senior year was Mason Reiner saying, “JFK shot first.”Jaden is most proud of her accomplishments, the relationships she has made with people over the years, and her leadership roles, like peer mentor, cheer captain, and class representative. She is grateful for her parents. She says, “My parents have taught me so much and made me the person I am today.”Jaden enjoys cheerleading, and camping with her family. If she could join any music group, she says she would love to be a part of Taylor Swift’s team. Jaden’s advice to underclassmen and incoming freshmen is to get involved in activities and get good grades. But also chill out, because high school is supposed to be fun. In ten years, Jaden sees herself as a nutritionist and hopes to be married and have a family.

Megan Elizabeth Reiner is the daughter of Marc and Carrie Reiner. After high school, she plans to attend South Dakota State University to get a degree to be a Nurse Practitioner. Megan chose this path because of her passion for helping others. Her most memorable experiences or achievements during high school are making it to the SoDak 16 in volleyball twice and once in basketball. Another unforgettable experience is all the time she spent with her classmates. Throughout high school, Megan participated in basketball, volleyball, track, choir, band, and journalism. She said, “These activities have shaped my high school experience by giving me endless memories I will never forget.” When asked where you see yourself in ten years, Megan said, “I’ll be 28 years old. I hope to have a career that I love and starting a family.” Her advice to the incoming freshmen and underclassmen is, “Be involved. Being involved is the best way to make memories, so be involved in as much as you can. I would also tell them to be open-minded and try new things."

Mason James Reiner is the son of Marc and Carrie Reiner. Mason plans to attend SDSU to study Agricultural Science. He was asked what inspired him to choose his path after high school, and his response was, “My grandpa and dad both went to SDSU and I want to follow in their footsteps.” Mason participated in basketball, track, football, 4-H, NHS, 3-act play, peer mentoring, and kindergarten mentoring. He says that being involved in these activities has helped him become a good role model and someone younger kids can look up to. The biggest challenge Mason faced this year was during the football season. About halfway through the season, he tore his ACL and had to decide if he wanted to finish his football and basketball seasons, risking further injury on his knee, or have surgery and miss out on the seasons. Mason says his family helped him a great deal when making this decision. He decided to wait for surgery and finish out his high school sports career. When asked if there was anything in his locker that he hadn’t touched all year, he said his locker in general. Mason’s advice to upcoming freshmen is to stay caught up on homework and try your hardest not to get behind. After college, he plans to come home and work on the family farm.

July 19, 2005, Jonathan James Quiram, son of Bonnie Marie Georgeson, joined siblings Anthony and Brynn and later followed Samantha, Katelyn, and Jamisen. During his school years, Jon liked to hang out with his classmates and slowly grow a bond between them. He enjoyed his free time napping in the senior lounge and playing video games with Daniel Huether and Tristan White. He likes listening to rap and country music, such as Ol’ Red by Blake Shelton, which he says he can’t get out of his head. If a food fight happened at lunchtime, Jon’s choice of weapon would be an apple because it would leave a mark. When filling his bag with non-school-related essentials, he chose to bring deodorant and gum. Jon said the dumbest thing he did was trying to hit a bird while driving.As graduation is sneaking up, the only thing Jon said was, “It's about time; I'm ready to be done.” In about ten years, Jon sees himself working and making good money. Once he graduates, he will enter the workforce.

Daniel James Huether was born to Sheldon and Vicki Huether on August 12, 2005. Throughout high school, Daniel participated in band for three years and football for three years. During his senior year, the seniors mentored the kindergarten class, with Daniel mentoring Spencer Lau. Reflecting on his time in high school, one thing he wishes he would have done differently is go out for football his freshman year. A coach who has had a significant impact on Daniel during his high school experience is “Mr. Erlandson because he helped me have more confidence.” Daniel says people will remember him as the quiet kid because he never talked as much as the rest of his class. His final thought about his high school career ending is, “I finally made it!” Daniel plans on farming after he graduates high school.

Senior Morgan Ruby Gemar is the daughter of Mark and Jennifer Gemar. After graduation, she plans to attend Southeast Tech and major in Early Childhood Education. Morgan expresses that she is “falling in her parent's footsteps,” as her parents, both elementary school teachers, greatly inspired her to pursue a career in education. Besides having a familial connection toward the career, working with young kids throughout high school also helped her realize her passion. During high school, Morgan was involved in volleyball, cheerleading, the National Honor Society, band, choir, peer mentoring, and theater. She was a class officer, holding the position of secretary/treasurer all four years of high school. She recalls volleyball and cheerleading most prominently since she spent many years in the respective activities, stating that they have taught her “perseverance and how to work through hard challenges.” When asked what advice she would offer incoming underclassmen, Morgan recommends they be involved in high school activities, events, and even with the elementary kids to “become a role model that they will look up to.” In ten years, she can see herself as a teacher of a preschool class and hopefully married. She believes that the memory she leaves at Tripp-Delmont will be one of hard work and effort from everything she has contributed to the school through sports and activities, noting that they didn’t come easy for her. “I had to work hard to earn my spots on the team and get good grades,” she says, reflecting her dedication and passion for her sports, school, and community.

On January 21, 2005, Harley Jean Elam was born to Kari and Julius Elam ll. Harley has two brothers and one sister. She attended Parkston High School until transferring to Tripp-Delmont, joining the class of 2024 in her sophomore year. Some challenges Harley faced and overcame in high school were getting a solo in the chorus, going out for volleyball, and participating in the play. Harley said her most memorable experiences and achievements were participating in volleyball, getting out of her comfort zone to perform the solo at a concert, and working with kindergarten students. When asked if there was anything she wished she had known or done differently during high school, Harley responded, "Don't be a people pleaser, and don't be in a hurry for a relationship or something. Just go slow and take your time, and work hard." When asked what the stupidest thing you've ever done was, she replied, "The stupidest thing she has ever done was cutting her hair and trying to hide it and smacking her brother with a ruler." After graduation, Harley plans to enter the workforce for a year and then attend college. Harley sees herself in 10 years having a family and being surrounded by friends.

Our 5th graders had a neat opportunity to tour the Air Base in Sioux Falls, through StarBase! The 5th graders combined with Armour's 5th graders for a week's worth of science related projects and activities. While we were in Sioux Falls, we met with a pilot, an aviationist, and a flight equipment crew member!
If you were looking for some of the seniors on their last day of school at TDS...... you would've found them outside playing with some of their favorite little people.
"They may forget what you said, but they will never forget how you made them feel." Every student needs somebody to look up to. Thank you to the graduating class of 2024 for doing just that. You have developed relationships with these young kiddos that will last a lifetime. We wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors.
The kindergarten kiddos and first graders had a very special storyteller come to our classroom today to tell some of her stories that she wrote. She also gave each student one of the copies of the books that she published. Thank you, Peggy Friederich!!
